Pulse Book Two in the Collide Series edition by Gail McHugh Literature Fiction eBooks

Thank goodness Pulse picks up right where Collide left off. My heart was racing and I had to know what was going to happen to my favorite, heart broken man.

I am so glad that Emily finally, and I mean FINALLY came to her senses and went after her man. I let out a little cheer of relief. And good for Gavin for making her sweat it out just a little bit. Just as things were looking up for the couple, life throws them both a curve ball. This one thing becomes the catalyst for both of their actions through the rest of the series. That one scene....OMG- be ready because even though I knew it was coming, it still got to me. Can you say ugliest of the ugly cries? But that ending...swoon my socks off.

Gail McHugh effectively ruined all other book boyfriends for me. I knew there was a reason Gavin was and still is my ultimate book boyfriend. The way he loves Emily and the rest of his family. His words. His actions. His heart. His dimples....I will say this...yes, the books are expensive and yes, you have to read them both, in order. However, they're worth every single penny and then some. There is no shortage of emotions as you read these books. You will laugh, want to throw something, groan in frustration, blush and sigh. But please remember, GAVIN IS MINE!

Pulse Book Two in the Collide Series edition by Gail McHugh Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I don't understand where the negative reviews came from. Some of it was a little wordy but for the most part it was awesome. This series touched on a topic not normally written about abuse verbal then physical alcoholism and the belittling of a person by any means to make you feel better about yourself. The back and forth between Emily and Gavin pulled at you because after Emily was hurt so bad she didn't want to get hurt again. Gavin who is so in love with Emily and all he wants is to love her and protect her is at a loss because she has walls up. It hurt Gavin so much he left. He couldn't stand to stay and watch Emily marry the idiot (being nice) that abused her so he took off. Fast forward to Emily realizing she wants Gavin doesn't marry the idiot and goes after her man. They reconcile and come home things are great only for Emily to discover something that may tear them apart again. Gavin stands by her side and their story goes on. You will need tissues throughout this book and a few times I almost threw my especially towards the end. I will say no more as I don't want to spoil it too much.
I loved this book!! This was an excellent follow-up to Collide, the first installment. I felt everything that the characters were going through in the story. I felt the emotions as if I was right there with them.

The story picked up from where the first one finished off. Emily has really done a lot of growing up. She is finally listening to her heart and goes after the man that she is truly in love with and who she is meant to be with. I felt the insecurities, the joy, the sadness as she tries to build the life the way that she wants it to be. It is not without its hardships but Gavin is there along the way to help her. By the end, Emily is definitely a wonderful heroine. Gavin Blake!!! OMG!! I fell more in love with him in this book. He was just the perfect guy! He did everything for Emily. I can feel the love, passion, and dedication that he had for her. I was never able to question how much he truly loved her and know that he was meant to be with her. Just everything about him just made me love him as a great male character and made me want some bottle caps lol.

I really loved the storyline in Pulse. It was written wonderfully. The journey that Emily and Gavin experience in this book is filled with everything-from happiness, humor, and love/passion to angst, heartbreak, and sadness. My emotions were all over the place. But by the end, I was just so happy! Just a terrific book!

When I read the first book in this series, I was addicted.I thought Gavin was awesome and I was interested to see what would happen with Emily and Gavin, and how Dillon would fit into the mix.

This book, however, just didn't do it for me. This is no reflection of the author because I think her level of skill was the same as in the first book. I just wasn't into the story as much.

In this one, Gavin seemed like much more of a womanizer than I remembered. He also had more of a temper, flying off the handle at nearly any given moment. Although Dillon is obviously not my favorite character, Gavin resorts to violence with him too often for my taste. I wasn't impressed with his temper and didn't find it as protective as I think it was intended.

I also got burnt out on Emily's constant thinking that she didn't deserve Gavin and had treated him so badly. She spent the majority of the book feeling as if he was too good for her, and I found her way of thinking exhausting. She wasn't a character that I loved anymore.

Overall, I think this author has skill with writing, but this book just didn't do it for me. The characters lost their luster, which made me less and less interested in where the story was going. I would read more by this author, but I wouldn't reread this one.
