Criminal A Bad Boy Stepbrother Romance Alex Abbott 9781514731086 Books

Although I liked this story and the bad boy image, I was annoyed at the constant inference that it was wrong of them. They aren't blood related so there's absolutely nothing wrong about it.

The sex was rough and I liked the way they "went at it." My biggest gripe is that she needed a better proofreader. Although it was written in the present tense, she kept lapsing into past tense. Her use of certain words were odd, the least of which was using nouns as verbs. Sort of like "googling" something on the internet. I've always hated that!

If you like rough sex and a bad boy romance, you'll like it. If bad grammar doesn't bother you, you'll like it. You won't if those things are a turn off.

Criminal A Bad Boy Stepbrother Romance Alex Abbott 9781514731086 Books Reviews

Stepbrother romance with lots of tension and heat!

Abigail lives with her stepbrother Kaiden whom is an official bad boy. Been arrested, in and out of trouble, and a sex god she can't help but want. So begging him to let her stay with him until she finds a job was more than she bargained for. Especially since now she works with him at a trashy bar. But he has secrets that she uncovers that explain his attitude. And hopes she can help

Kaiden doesn't want Abigail around his life. Bringing women home nightly, and constantly giving her grief for being there doesn't seem to get her to leave, and now she's in more trouble than she realizes just by working at the bar. But he'd do anything to keep her safe. Even from him.

These two had so much tension between each other it's no wonder they were explosive together. There was underlying sexual tension neither were willing to explore no matter how much they wanted one another. After losing their parents, their lives got thrown off track even more and now they are both on the run. The sex was hot, the chemistry even hotter.
DAMN! This book blew my mind. Alex wrote something that flowed so smoothly, was written SO well that I practically HAD to read it all in one day. I usually like to digest my books, spread them out for maximum enjoyment, but crap– Criminal was about as addicting as a book can get.

Written in a similar style as Cynthia Eden, Criminal starts out with a bang, or should I say Kaiden banging some random chick. All in hopes of getting his stepsister Abigail off his mind.

The passion was almost tangible in this piece. Like you could reach out and touch it.

Abigail has to move in with her older stepbrother, being that she's homeless because of her deceased parents using her tuition money to pay Kaiden's bail. The tension and the strife leaps off the pages of Criminal and soon, I was tossing and turning right along with Abigail, longing to be with her forbidden love.

But let's talk about one thing– The Sex. Ohhhhh myyyyyyy. It was HOTTT. As in my kindle was about to erupt into flames HOTTT. Or not enough water in the world to drink after eating too many Jalapeños HOTTT. The scenes were rough, they were dirty, they were animalistic, and Kaiden has a mouth on him filthy enough to rival any book boyfriend.

There was a ton of suspense and on-the-edge-of-your-seat drama and I loved every second of it.

This book was addicting, amazing, and just plain awesome. I highly recommend it to any lovers of stepbro romances. But also to anyone simply looking for a great book to read!
I've read a few stepbrother romances now, and this one was intense. Different in a lot of ways, but in a lot of good ways, too.

It started off with an interesting twist, what with their parents having passed away a few months back. I wasn't exactly expecting that, but I found it intriguing. Also, Kaiden is a little rougher at first than I'm used to, but I thought it was fun and interesting, too.

The way they come together was intense, though. There's a lot of subtle nuance to what's going on in their relationship. Kaiden likes to try and act tough and indifferent, but then behind the scenes he's really looking out for Abigail. She's a little naive to it at first, but she gets hints about it here and there. It's sort of a slow burn at first, but then it all boils over and it's full steam ahead!

This story was really intense, though. I think that's the best way to describe it. Everything is intensified by the dark underworld sort of aspects. This isn't just a bad boy, but a really rough and rugged criminal sort of thing. Basically, he's not just acting tough, but he really is tough, and I think that added a lot to the story. Abigail is sort of thrown into this world without really knowing what to expect, and it's not something she ever wanted, but now that she's there, well...

I liked the natural conflict and opposition, though. It made their relationship even more intriguing. Different, but intense.

If you're looking for a great stepbrother romance that's fun to read and with a bit of a darker bad boy angle, I'd really suggest this one! It's a great story with a lot going on and I think you'll really enjoy it. Highly recommended!
